LEANDER, LYCKANDER posted by Kay Norden on Sunday, March 2, 2003: Chisago County--I am looking for info on a man who listed Rush City as a desination when he left Sweden. The spelling of the name may have been changed when he came to the U.S. Erik O. LYCKANDER left Sweden in 1888 at the age of 20. His sister Kristina came from Sweden in 1893 and when she was on the ship her name was listed as LEANDER. His father Lars came in 1884 with a destination of Worthington. WINGES, WOLF posted by Laurie K Houle on Sunday, March 2, 2003: Looking for any information on William WOLF born 1840, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Came to Chisago County with his father, brother Frederick who married Alice Wilkes and sister Doris in 1857. After serving in the Civil War, William married Johanne Julie WINGES in 1869, and had the following children: Frederick J, Minnie, Caroline Elizabeth, Elizabeth Rose, Henry William, and William E Wolf. My grandparents spent many weekends with the WINGES family in Rush City. And the Winges family visited them in Lake Elmo many weekends. My Grandmother will be 105 February 28, 2003, and still talks about the Winges and Wolf family.

BOECK, BRAMSCHER, BUEHRING posted by Paul Bramscher on Sunday, November 2, 2003: I'm looking for information on the BOECK family who lived in Chisago County, probably at least from the late 1880's to the early 1930's. The area of focus is a farm around Rush City in that period, I know of nothing more specific than this. My great-grandmother was Bertha BOECK Born October 16, 1882 in Minnesota Married Heinrich F. BRAMSCHER (b. December 9, 1878 in Germany) Died: June 11, 1917 in St. Paul, MN. Buried in a cemetery on Jackson St. Her death cert. shows father as John BOECK, mother Mary BOECK (nee BUEHRING). On the Minnesota Death Index I've found both a Louis August (b. 6/23/1894, d. 1/7/1968 in Ramsey County) and John Henry BOECK (b. 11/20/1889, d. 10/16/1963) whose mother's maiden name was BUEHRING. I also found a John BOECK (b. Abt 1850, d. 9/28/1933 in Ramsey County), checked his obit in the St. Paul newspaper, and discovered that Louis and John H. are two of his sons. He was also survived by an Alice, Frank, and William. What I'd like to confirm is that Bertha is related to these people (I strongly believe so) and learn more about the surname BOECK in Chisago County. I'm curious about the surname BUEHRING as well (though they may have married in Germany prior to emmigrating).
